About Us

Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills continues a century of funeral service in Saline County and surrounding area that was started in the early 1900's by Edgar and Addie Miller. Edgar and Addie's son and daughter in law Parish and Jean Miller continued to operate the Miller Funeral Home until their retirement in 1980 at which time Greg and Pam Absher bought the funeral home. In 1985, Pam's Brother, Tim Nicholson joined them and the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home was born. Tim passed away on October 8, 2021. Greg and Pam continued to operate the funeral home actively serving the area with the same compassion and professional service that was always a trademark.

Greg graduated from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1975. He and Pam are active members of the Carrier Mills First United Methodist Church where they serve on several committees. Pam has been an employee of the First Southern Bank in Carrier Mills for several years, and actively helps at the funeral home. They have 2 sons, Geoffrey Absher and Barrett Absher who help where needed along with Pam and Greg's niece, Melissa Williams.

Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home is a member of the Quad County Funeral Directors Association as well as the Egyptian Funeral Directors Association.
